Welcome to Year 8/9!
We are delighted to welcome you to Miss McGregor’s crew page. This year is an amazing opportunity to learn about exciting topics such as World War Two, whilst also continuing to grow socially, emotionally, and personally.
Our class team is:

Together, we support students to feel safe, confident, and ready to achieve their best.
What we are learning this term
English
In English we are onto another book study, exploring Charlotte's Web. They will be developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills, while building on the foundations from Key Stage 3.
Maths
In Maths, students will be recapping area and perimeter and fractions. We have some practical based lessons to enhance the fundamentals of unit fractions.
Science
In Science, we will be focusing on how sounds works and the processes of the ear. We then switch to light and how our eyes translate our sight. Alongside developing their knowledge, students will continue to build their practical science skills.
Cooking and DT
Cooking lessons will give students the opportunity to explore practical life skills, creativity, and healthy living. In DT the students will have the opportunity to make their own working lamp.
Choosing Time
Choosing Time is an important part of our nurture approach, giving students the chance to develop social skills, responsibility, and independence. Activities this term will include:
- Board games
- Crafting and creative projects
- Card games such as Uno
- Football and other outdoor activities later in the term
