11A have enjoyed a range of choosings since they started the new year, including making use of the common room to play pool, writing their own stories, designing their own games and activities and playing football and basketball outside.

In English this term we are focussing on writing for different purposes. This will be useful practice in independently writing passages which will help them in their upcoming exams. We are focussing specifically on newspaper articles and considering the difference between tabloid and broadsheet.

In Maths, we will be looking at statistics this term including representing data in graphs and the different ways to measure averages. At the end of the term we will be focusing on Pythagoras’ theorem for calculating missing angles and side lengths in right angled triangles.


In Science, students have been looking at the make up of a plant cell and identifying key parts and their function. Also food chains/ cycles and identifying the key areas. We have now moved onto Human Biology, where we are identifying key organs of the body and there vital roles in the human body.
